CLIENT Paumco, a family business that designs and manufacturers outdoors, farming, and agricultural equipment.

AUDIENCE Outdoors enthusiasts. Typically, families who go more rugged outdoors (i.e., don’t go the RV route) and thus want tools that help them enjoy the outdoors more thoroughly.

STRATEGY Paumco makes products that enhance your outdoor adventures. And that better experience, we determined, should start on shelf — before you've even pitched a tent or lit the campfire. This redesign enhances not only your experience using the product but buying and interacting with it too. Key elements of this redesign are sustainable packaging and a disruptive look on shelf.

The tagline succinctly and memorably communicates Paumco’s mission: 1) helping people enjoy the outdoors and 2) creating products that simplify outdoors adventures by not getting in the way of them. A collaboration with copywriter Ronn Paulson, the tagline accomplishes so much in just three words. The best taglines are succinct and easy to recall.

Paumco's logo features an icon that hints at the numerous icons of outdoor life, all of which happen to feature a triangle shape — a bonfire, a mountain and a tent.

Replacing the previous package of a canvas bag housed in a container similar to a pizza box, the new design for Paumco’s flagship product, the Bob-A-Que adjustable campfire grill, is a sustainable and innovative solution. It capitalizes on the bag's ability to house messaging as well as the originality of an asymmetrical wrap, both of which heavily reduce the amount of packaging required.

Inside the canvas bag is an instruction guide.
